Separation of plasma lipids by thin-layer chromatography.

چکیده
A rapid comprehensive thin-layer chromatographic separation of the major plasma lipid classes on commercial silicic acid glass fiber paper is described. For screening purposes, oxidized fractions are rapidly visualized for qualitative interpretation. Standard colorimetric procedures for each lipid class are per formed upon the migration areas cut from the strips. This provides quantitative measurements from only 0.03 ml of plasma. The separation procedure is easily accomplished in the routine laboratory and quantitation is practical in batch analyses.

Unidimensional Thin Layer Chromatography of Salicylic Acid Derivatives on Boric Acid-Impregnated Plates in Drugs Studies
A unidimensional Thin Layer Chromatography system for the separation of salicylic acid and its derivatives (sulfosalicylic acid and Aspirin) has been developed. The separation was successfully using a solvent system of chloroform-methanol-water-ammonium hydroxide 120:75:6:2 (V/V) as mobile phase on TLC plates impregnated with boric acid. The method is based on different behavior of investigated...
متن کاملQuantification in the subnanomolar range of phospholipids and neutral lipids by monodimensional thin-layer chromatography and image analysis.
A sensitive, rapid, and simple method is presented for the simultaneous quantitation of the major phospholipids and neutral lipids using an image analyzer after separation by one-dimensional thin-layer chromatography. A clear-cut separation of the lipids was achieved on one EDTA-impregnated chromatoplate with five step-wise developments. An image was acquired, and the integrated optical densiti...
متن کاملPreparative scale separation of neutral lipids and phospholipids by centrifugally accelerated thin-layer chromatography.
Mixtures of lipids and phospholipids were separated by centrifugally accelerated thin-layer chromatography on a preparative scale (300-500 mg lipid mixture per run). The isolated lipids and phospholipids were identified by 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy and their fatty acid composition was determined by GLC and GLC-MS of their methyl esters.

A method for microdetermination of major neutral lipids and an application of the procedure to tissue lipids.
Cholesterol, cholesteryl esters, triglycerides and fatty acids as major neutral lipids and phospholipids were examined in quantitative analysis. The method consisted of three steps: (1) separation of lipids by one-dimensional thin-layer chromatography on silica gel plates; (2) elution of neutral lipids from scraped silica gel with chloroform-methanol (4:1); and (3) colorimetric determination of...
